CLUB SAFETY AND RANGE RULES STATEMENT

At our club safety and range rules meeting we decided to require all members to receive a notice of all procedures used in operating the range. You must read and sign this statement and return it or the combination for the McComb Range will not be issued to you.

1.   All firearms are to be unloaded and breeches open until the shooter is ready to fire. During all events there will be an O.B.I. in all chambers, when practical.

2.   Loaded firearms must be pointed downrange.

3.   No highpower rifle or pistol shall be fired at the ground, in front of the impact backstop. ALL Highpower Rifle targets will be attached to the 100-yard target carrier system unless under club range officer supervision. If a closer range is needed for Highpower Rifles, the shooter will place the target at the 100-yard carrier system and walk forward to the yard line desired. This rule will also apply to Magnum Pistols.

4.   When using the shotgun range at the left of the shed, position the trap so it is even with the shed’s firing line.

5.   Call a cease-fire on both rifle and shotgun ranges, when going forward to change targets or for any other reason.

6.   When aerial-shooting shotguns at the range, the maximum load allowed will be 3 dram 1-1/8 oz of shot with the maximum shot size of #6.

7.   No use of automatic firearms, pyrotechnic devices, tracers or incendiary ammunition are allowed. No rifle with a muzzle energy higher than a .460 Weatherby is allowed to be fired at the range. Automatic firearms may be fired by law enforcement agencies or military teams but only under supervision of the club officers.

8.   Placing targets on top of the railroad ties protecting the 25-yard target system or on the 100 yard target carrier system will not be allowed.

9.   Highpower rifles may not be fired on the two pistol ranges used for Action Pistol.

10.  Unauthorized use of the Action Pistol Ranges is not allowed.

11.  Disclosing the McComb Range gate combination to any non-member is cause for immediate termination of membership.

I understand the rules set forth in the above text and agree to follow them. I also acknowledge that any rule infraction will cause my membership to be terminated.
